New Year, New You 2013!

My motto for this year is "Girls Gone Strong!"

Don't be afraid to build muscles ladies, the more muscle you have the more calories you burn (even while you are sleeping) which will help you get tightened, toned and lose weight.  I can't wait to start our next 6 week session so you will see dramatic strength and weight loss results (depending on how much you are putting into your workouts and your nutrition.)

Whatever your health & fitness goals are, join our group of ladies and get the motivation and support you need to reach those goals.  All fitness levels are welcome, you work at your own pace.

Each workout is different, and you will need an exercise mat, bottle of water and a set of 5-10 lbs hand weights.

******Join Anytime (pro rated prices)**************

Our next 6 week session begins on Monday, January 7th and ends Friday, February 15th.

$115.00 -  unlimited boot camp classes per week
$95.00   -  2-3 boot camp classes per week
$67.00   -  12 boot camp classes

Payments accepted through PayPal.

Our morning sessions are held inside the clubhouse when the weather is below 50 degrees.  Our night boot camp will only be held outdoors (most likely on the tennis courts), so layer your clothing.

Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Christmas....OH MY!

I can't believe it but the holidays are slowly creeping up on us.  Yikes!  We will be tempted by candy corn, skittles, suckers and melted Butterfingers.  Not to mention the one holiday that is centered around food (it's ok to be thankful for family and friends without overindulging on mashed potatoes / gravy, pumpkin pie and all the other trimmings.)  As we roll into December it's party after party filled with not so calorie friendly appetizers, cocktails and baked goodies.

Fast forward.....New Year's Day!  You can't wait to start or really get serious about losing the few or many pounds that you have mysteriously gained in the last 3 months.  As you are working on your fitness program it seems like forever to lose 1 pound, and your thinking "Man, how come the pounds don't come off as easy as they went on!"

Well I have a solution!  Get started now with an exercise and nutrition plan to help you stay on track to lose or maintain your weight throughout the next several months.  Don't make it feel like a DIET, make it feel like a LIFESTYLE change.  Make healthier food choices and get up and start moving.

Do you need accountability and someone to challenge you to make better food choices and make the most of your workouts?  Then join the October, November, & December Challenge (no need to wake up early on New Year's Day and bust your butt, because you will already be in shape and feeling great.)

If you would like more info on the challenge, please email me for more details.  valleygirlfitness@gmail.com

Reaching your health and fitness goals....

Now that we are 2 weeks into the new year, time to evaluate your health and fitness progress.  Are you following the roadmap you have created to a healthy lifestyle?  Oh, what...you don't have a roadmap!

For many years I would write out my New Year's resolutions with basic goals such as "Get fit" and "lose weight".  Ok great, I would write it on a post it note and place inside one of our kitchen cabinet doors.  I was all revved up and would start out strong.  I would just sort of wing it on the exercise and I would try to eat healthy.  1 month into it, I would run out of steam, get frustrated and eventually continue to blame it on my sit-down job and that I was too busy running our businesses to really follow a plan.

Then the light bulb went off.  I didn't really have a plan.  I wasn't really following any guidelines and I hadn't created any new healthy habits.  Once I planned out my workouts, learned how to cook (which is now my favorite hobby), wrote out a weekly menu and prepped most of our meals in advance, I was armed and ready to challenge myself to live a healthy lifestyle.

It works!  Now I write goals every week (health, career, family) and put measure to them.  I attach a number to them so I know what to strive for.  This week, for example, one of my goals is to run 3 days for 40 minutes.  Make small weekly goals, which will help you reach your overall fitness goal.

It takes 21 days to create a new habit.  Do whatever it takes to get to that point.  After 21days it becomes such a natural part of your routine...just like brushing your teeth.

Why Wait for the New Year?

Hard to believe but yes, we are headed straight into the holidays.  Put your seatbelt on and get ready for the crazy ride that is almost upon us.

Having said that, why not get a head start on your exercise program.  You will need all the energy you can muster to get through all of the upcoming events.  Like Halloween, will you be able to work all day, get home, get dinner on the table and then walk all those miles trick-or-treating and collecting candy that you have every intention on throwing away or donating to someone just so you won't be tempted to sneak a piece or two, or three?

Create healthy habits now before the holidays.  Learn how to be prepared when it comes to meal time so you won't be tempted to hit the drive-thru because you are too tired or don't have a clue as to what to make for dinner.

Challenge yourself now, why wait?  Creating a healthy lifestyle is a never-ending journey and it is never too late to start, but with the right tools you can make small changes that lead to big results.

Valley Girl Fitness Boot Camp is an on-going exercise program designed to help "jump-start" your fitness goals.  All levels of fitness are welcome because you work at your own pace.

Please contact me for more info or stop by our new location:  Villages Subdivision basketball / tennis courts on Mon, Tues, or Thurs @ 7:00pm.   This is an all ladies workout program (ages 16 and above)

Challenge Day One

Wow, the first day of the 30 Day Get Fit 'n Healthy Challenge was awesome.  You ladies really showed strength and determination throughout the workout.  Great job!

Posting your goals for others to see will help keep you accountable and give you the support you need to reach your goals.  I am so excited to see the results at the end of the month.

Make sure you get at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular activity everyday.  Limit soda and take out foods.  Being prepared is the best way to ensure you are eating the right kinds of foods in the right amounts.

Have a great holiday weekend!
